About this notice

This Privacy Policy describes how Primasia Foundation Limited (the “Foundation“, “we“, “us“) collects, uses and protects personal data in accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of Hong Kong (the “PDPO“). This notice applies to personal data collected through this website and through direct correspondence with the Foundation.

02

Information we collect

We collect personal data only where you provide it to us voluntarily — for example, when you contact us by email, submit a scholarship inquiry, or send a partnership proposal. The categories of personal data we may collect include: your name, email address, postal address, telephone number, the organisation you represent (if any), and any further information you choose to include in your communication. We may also automatically collect limited technical information when you visit this website (for example, your IP address, browser type and pages visited) for the purpose of monitoring website performance and security. Where third-party analytics are used, they are configured to be privacy-preserving and do not set cookies or build cross-site profiles.

03

How we use your information

Personal data you provide is used solely for the purposes for which it was collected, including: responding to your inquiries; assessing scholarship and partnership applications; administering grants and sponsorships; complying with our legal and regulatory obligations as a Hong Kong-registered charitable organisation; and maintaining records of our charitable activities. We do not use your personal data for direct marketing, and we do not sell or rent personal data to any third party.

04

Disclosure of personal data

We may disclose personal data to: (i) members of the Foundation’s governance and our authorised staff and advisors who need access in the course of their duties; (ii) service providers (such as our website host and email service) who process data on our behalf under appropriate confidentiality obligations; and (iii) regulatory authorities or law enforcement where we are required to do so by applicable law. We do not disclose personal data to any other third party without your consent.

05

Cross-border transfer

This website is hosted on a global content delivery network. As a result, technical information such as your IP address may be processed at servers located outside Hong Kong. We take reasonable steps to ensure that any such transfer is consistent with the protection afforded under the PDPO.

06

Data retention

We retain personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including any period required to comply with our legal, regulatory and record-keeping obligations as a charitable organisation. Personal data that is no longer required is securely deleted or anonymised.

07

Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. No method of transmission over the internet is fully secure; we encourage you not to send sensitive information through unencrypted channels.

08

Your rights under the PDPO

Subject to the PDPO, you have the right to request access to, and correction of, the personal data we hold about you. To make a data access or correction request, please write to us at the contact details below. We may charge a reasonable fee for compliance with a data access request as permitted by the PDPO.

09

Cookies

This website does not use cookies for advertising or behavioural tracking. We do not deploy any third-party advertising tags. Where any limited functional cookie is used (for example, to remember your selected language), it carries no personal identifier and is removed when you close your browser.

10

Children

This website is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13. If you believe we may have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us so that we may delete it.
